The Bakras

Every gang has them. Without them the fun is incomplete coz they are the life of the party. They make u laugh till u cry. They are lovely people who can sustain any amount of eve-teasing..leg pulling and everyone screws them left right and center. They are the famous 'Bakras' of every friend circle. We might tease them...bash them...eat them..rape them..yet they are ever-smiling. They don't take anything to heart. They show their love unabashed, bring in a lot of energy into the night and make everyone in the gang feel alive.

I met one such pal of mine after ages...reason being a friend's marriage in Mavelikara, a small town in Kerala. I was transported back to the person i once was ...in Pondicherry. I realize that that "me" is still alive..but hiding somewhere deep within. I dont remember laughing so much..dancing so much..talking so much. I laughed till it my stomach pained.

Where are those fun and frolic filled days....when all I used to do was pay my customary darshan to our chai-addas.. our cool-joint adda serving hot samosas ...the chat waalas...the local bajji waalas and talk until the mosquitoes remind us of a place called "Home". Things have changed so much...meetings with ol' friends is a rarity. Not that am buzy..but so much has changed. Though technology helps us reduce barriers..still that personal touch vud always b missing. I sometimes find the mobile phone so very ridiculous coz all i want to talk about is that meaningless talk...that "youthful banter"... chit-chatting..gossipping about everything in the world other than "How are you..howz life..howz work". I mean, are these conversations meant to be with your bosom buddies..crazy ain't it?

This trip has made me feel very nostalgic....feel alive. Certain moments like this cause an unconscious smile appear on one's face...and i have been inadvertently smiling the whole day. I hope such moments do come more often. Thanks Mr. V for everything. I love u machan :)

Be Born Everyday!

Came across this wonderful Titan ad featuring Aamir Khan.

Reminds me of my gud ol friend.."Dharma bum" as he is known more popularly :-P. My relationship with him goes a long way and i guess since those early days he is someone i look upto. He defies conventions in every possible way. From his looks to his acts to the way he leads his life...he walks the untrodden path. He has has his weaknesses(who doesnt)...some of which I sincerely hope he overcomes....again he vud have his own logic and even if the world comes against him....he vud take them all.

He is an inspiration and makes every person whom he comes in contact with...Think!

Postcards from Kodagu

There are times when I crave for reliving the past. There are so many memories attached to certain places that I feel very emotionally attached to these places. I love most teashops in Pondicherry for they used to be my hangout places, courtesy my “Wills-lifestyle” friends. Kodagu or Coorg as its called is another such place and the trip was as good as it can get.

These flowers were shot at the home-stay we were put up in...an excellant guest house i must say. Also, the food our hosts provided was simply mouth-watering. :-)

These pics have been taken at Nagerhole national park & on our way thru Waynad. The fragrance of Eucalyptus, the rains, the greenery...was so refreshing!

The picture of the Budha along with his associates is my personal favorite :)

Talacauvery, the birthplace of River Cauvery. The mist adds to aura..simply "Divine"!

Coorg landscape captured from Raja's seat, Madikeri

Iruppu falls: Summer or monsoon....this place is a must visit.
